About Pastor Chris
A Missionary Evangelist
Pastor Chris Heeb spent over 30 years studying the Bible from a Hebraic/Jewish perspective. Chris now travels to reach a lost and dying world of Christ. He preaches the gospel with the goal of leading as many as possible to Jesus Christ. As most who know Chris, or those who have heard him preach, he is not afraid to say what needs to be said.
Most people in prison live with guilt, hopelessness, helplessness, and deep emotional pain. They are not only locked up from society, they are also locked upon the boundary of their own hearts, minds, and souls looking for freedom from the despair that torments them. Most rarely get the chance to open up their souls and when they do, they become like an onion - peeling away years of abandonment, guilt, bitterness, and unforgiveness until their hearts' eyes become open to what God's love is all about. Since 2014, Pastor Chris has been called into Prison Ministry for Hennepin County, and gets immense satisfaction from this work. With his recent Chaplain licensing, he is also securing regular jail visits.
Pastor Chis has spoken at numerous schools, colleges, and universities on the topic of religion. In addition, he had a 7-year radio show, called FaithRoots, about the Hebraic Roots of our Judeao/Christian Faith. along with clarifying the differences between Judiasm, Christianty, and Islam.
A Life Journey Shaped by World Atrocities and Life's Blessings!
Chris was born near Lake Constance in Switzerland, just 2 hours away from Munich Germany and the location of the atrocities at the Dachau Concentration Camp. His uncle was a Swiss Border Guard during WWII and had a big impact on his interest in the war and the terrible events leading up to the Holocaust.
Chris moved with his parents to America in 1960, and his first exposure to personal Anti-Semitism came in late grade school when some of his classmates began calling him a "Christ Killer." His Jewish-sounding surname "Hebe" is also slang for Hebrew/Jew, and having been raised as a Lutheran, he was challenged to understand this seemingly bizarre aggression directed at him, and also at his Jewish classmates.
In the 1970s, Chris attended the University of Minnesota where he pursued a political science/history major. In 1979, his secular agnostic lifestyle was changed forever by the outreach of a Christian couple, and through scripture study he came to the realization that the God of Israel was also Yeshua/Jesus of Nazareth, God Incarnate.
Twenty years later he met and married Youth With A Mission missionary and nurse, Regina Johnson. They have been blessed with three children.
Why I Do What I Do
My life was radically changed, some 40 years ago, by the divine intervention of Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God and the King of the Jews. I tried to study the scriptures from as neutral a perspective as possible and this is what I came away with:
The Bible is a Middle Eastern, Jewish, Eternal Salvation story for the most part
The Creator God/Elohim of the Bible is not a generic God, but the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel
Yeshua/Jesus didn’t come to start a new religion, but fulfill the one that was started thru the promises to our Great Father Abraham fulfilled in Yeshua/Jesus of Nazareth
That the Salvation story in the complete Bible (66 books), has been radically misrepresented down through the ages by biased Jews, Catholics, Protestants, and secular teachers
Only by studying the literal, historical, cultural context can you hope to truly understand the Divine Message that God/Jesus had intended
Nothing in the Bible has ever been disproved and nothing ever will be disproved.
